My New Header Photo

My new header photo is a picture I took on top of a Community-Based Forest Management area in General Tinio, Nueva Ecija, Philippines.

What used to be denuded forests were now developed by beneficiaries. One of them is the farmer whom we've visited and these are the vegetables that he planted in his area:

rows of eggplant shrubs

taro or gabi

cassava or kamoteng kahoy

On our way home from the mountains, we passed by this nipa-hut store and I just couldn't let it go unphotographed. It is so seldom that we see this biodegradable structures in the lowlands.

This CBFM area proves how hardworking the Filipino people are. Given the enough opportunity and support, they can bring back life even to what is formerly considered useless.

kaka-miss yang lugar na yan, naaalala ko pa nung naparami kain ko jan minsan, tapos nakalimutan ko, sa bundok pala, walang comfort room na may apat na dingding ...
